a. Knowledge aims:
1.To learn the vocabularies: Wednesday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, physics, geography, P.E., physical education, art, history, math, mathematics, biology, politics, science, meeting.
2. To learn the communication skills about subjects and timetables.
3. To talk about subjects and timetables.
eg: (1) What class are they having?
They are having a music class.
(2) How many lessons does he have every weekday?

At ten fifty-five.
b. Ability aims:
1. To train students ability of obtaining specific subject names and time information from listening materials
2. To enable the students to review and distinguish between the present progressive tense and the general present tense in oral and written expressions.

To cultivate students confidence in learning English and make them understand that they should care about each other besides studying hard.

2. To help students ask and answer about course schedules.

Step1.Warming up
1.Let’s chant“What are you doing ?”
2. The teacher asks and the students answer. For example:
T: What we are doing now?
Ss: We are having an English class.
T: Yes. We are having an English class now. It begins at ten o’clock and finishes at twenty to eleven.
T teaches the new words: begin, finish.
Step2. Presentation
1. Learn the new words using a calendar: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.
2. Review the days of the week and use the timetable in 2a to learn the new words: physics, geography, P.E., physical education, art, history, math, mathematics, biology, politics, science,.
3. Ask and answer in pairs, using a calendar. For example:
A: What day is it today? B: It’s Thursday.
A: Do you have a P.E. class on Tuesday? B: No, we don’t.
A: What time does the class begin? B: At eight o’clock.
4. Listen to 1a and fill in the blanks, and check out.
Step3. Practice
1.Work in pairs and practice 1a. Then make up new conversations with the following information. The students act out.
2.Look at Wen Wei’s timetable and answer the following questions. Then practice with partner.
3.Make a survey: Which subject do you like best?
Step4. Project
Interview your classmates and learn about their favorite subjects and reasons. And make a table.
Step5. Homework
Make your own timetable in English.
