教学设计思路

本课属于该单元当中的using language 部分，此部分侧重训练学生的泛读能力和听力能力。在该教学设计的导入部分利用图片，让学生描述图片的内容，进而推测出文章的内容。接下来的skimming和scanning 部分，通过让学生练习这两种阅读技巧，快速找到文章的某些信息。第四部分listening分为两部分pre-listening and while listening 。pre-listening 部分旨在通过图片预测即将听到的内容，这样可以降低学生听力难度。While listening 部分旨在训练学生听力能力。第五部分角色扮演旨在让学生通过表演将所学习的内容转化为自己的知识，这样做既能达到学以致用的目的，又能够激发学生的兴趣，让他们积极参与其中。最后的作业部分分为必做题及选做题旨在让学生可以根据自己的水平做出选择。

Ask Ss to look at the pictures and describe them.

Step 2 Skimming (7分钟)

1. Ask Ss to skim the passage and answer the following questions:

   How many characters are there in the story ?

   Why did Hippomenes decide to run against Atlanta?

通过浏览文章，帮助学发展他们快速阅读的能力。

Sstep 3 Scanning (8分钟)

1. Scan the passage and answer the T or F questions.

 = 1 \* GB3 \* MERGEFORMAT ① Atlanta was happy about the fact that she could not run in the Olympics.            

‚. Many men gave up the race because it was hopeless to win.                                     

ƒ. At first Hippomenes understood why men ran against Atlanta.

Sstep 4 Listening (15)

1.Pre-listening

Ask Ss to look at the picture and predict whether Hippomenes will win the race or not.

2. While-listening

Ask Ss to listen to the ending of the story, check their guesses and answer the following questions.

   Did Hippomenes win the race?

   What did he do when Atlanta was in front of him during the race?

Listening.

该部分的设计主要为了训练学生的听力。通过听前的准备预测听力内容，再听材料听出故事的结尾。

准备好一些图片和听力材料。

Step 5 Role play (6分钟)

1. Ask Ss to work in groups and make up a short play about the happy ennding and then act it out.

这部分通过角色扮演的形式，能够让学生乐于其中，激发学生学以致用。

Sstep 6 Homework(1分钟

1.Required: Write an essay about what you have learned from the story.(100-120) 

2. Optional: Surf the internet to find more about the Greek stories.

作业分为必做题和选做题。不同的学生可以根据自己的情况进行选择。
