Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Pan Qi. I am from Taogang Primary School.It’s my great pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you.The content of the lesson is PEP Primary English Book 3 Unit 4 Part B Let’s learn &Read and write.

Ⅰ.The analysis of the students

The students have learned English for one year. They are curious, active and fond of game ,cooperation and various activities.They enjoy learning through a vivid situation in a relaxing atmosphere.

Ⅱ.The analysis of the teaching material

The lesson is about the words of things in a room and use a sentence structure to describe the arrangement of a room. The topic is related to our daily life. So it is easy to attract the student’s learning interests.

1.Teaching objectives

Therefore, on studying the teaching material and analyzing the regulation of children’s growing of mind. I put forward the teaching objectives according to English syllabus an lesson standard.

   1)The knowledge objectives

     a )The students can hear, read and use the main words: sofa, bed, phone, table and fridge.

     b )The students can use the sentence patterns: “Where  are the ...?” “They are ... .”

   2)The ability objective

     The students can use the words and sentences in their daily life to describe the arrangement

     of a room.

   3)The emotional objective

     By completing the task, the students can develop the fond of their home.

2.The key points:

   1)How to read, write and use the new words.

   2)How to use the sentences in a proper way.

3.The difficult points

   The pronuciation and the spell of the word “phone” .

Ⅲ.Teaching methods

I adopt situational teaching method and Task-based teaching method. Besides, a computer, a blackboard and a projector are needed as the teaching aids.

Ⅳ.Teaching procedures

Step 1 Warming upsing the song“on, in , under”

review the words “on, in , under, near” and write the words on the blackboard.

Step 2 Situational teaching

Invite everyone to My home

I take out my key to the door, put the key in the door, open the door, turn on the light

(Purpose: In order to review the words we’ve learned before.)

1)Then I go to the study, put the bag on the table.

2) you can see there is a phone on the table.

3) I go to the living room, you can see an orange sofa.

4) I feel hungry. Go to the kitchen, open the fridge, take out a chocolate cake. 

5) I’m full. But I start to feel tired. I go to the bedroom and lie on the bed.

6) Suddenly, the phone rings.

To teach the word table,phone,sofa,fridge,bed.

I will pretend to answer a call from TFBOYS. Then tell them if they behave themselves and finish the 2 tasks in class, they will get the chance to attend the concert held by TFBOYS.

(purpose: I want to teach the new words in a vivid situation to arouse the interest and activity of students.   )

Step 3 Do the words practice

Use the new words to describe the room and ask students to retell.

The sofa is near the window. The bed is near the sofa. The fridge is near the fan. The table is near the chair. The phone is on the table.

(purpose: set an example for students to present the proper use of the words in the sentences)

Step4 Do Task 1 in groups

1) read and write

Every student has a worksheet. Ask them to look at the picture to write the words down in the sentence in groups.

2)speak and stick.

Check the answer. I’ll ask student A to read the words, student B come to blackboard to attach the answer to the blackboard.

(Purpose:  It  not only can practice the use of the words but also can train the handwriting of the new words by asking students to do the task by themselves in groups using the worksheet.)

Step 5 Teaching sentence structure

Show the sentence structure on PPT

Review “Where is…? It’s ….” and teach “Where are….? They’ re….”.

Ask students to read and practice.

(purpose: learn the new sentence structure by reviewing the one we’ve learned)

Step 6 Do Task 2 Game Finding the keys.

It’s time to go to TFBOYS’concert. But Zhang Peng and John lost their keys in his living room. Let’s help them to find the keys.

I’ll show the page on PPT and cover the bed sofa table chair fridge.

(Purpose: use the guessing game to make sure that students can acquire the knowledge in class.)

Step 7  Homework:

Use what we have learned to tell friends the furniture arrangement in your room.

Step 8 broadcasting a song of TFBOYS

end the class by sending the invitations of the concert of TFBOYS.
