电影融入众多的人物，而人物通过语言来传递信息、抒发情感、塑造形象、触动观众。一部好电影离不开好剧本和好台词，离不开活生生的人物对话和情感交流。随着电影剧情的涤荡起伏，不同人物纷纷登场，众多精彩的人物对话呈现给了观众。
电影《阿甘正传》中母亲Mrs．Gump去世前向儿子表达自己对待死亡的独特见解和抒发的母子情怀：“Death is just a part of life．It’S something we’re all destined to do．I didn’tknow it，but I was destined to be your Momma．I did the best I could．”。动画影片《狮子王》中父亲Mufasa教导儿子Simba一段哲理：“I’m only brave when I have to be，Simba．Beingbrave doesn’t mean you go looking for trouble．”。电影《简爱》中女主人公Jane向男主人公Rochester真情吐露：“If God had gifted me with wealth and beauty，I should have made itas hard for you to leave me as it is now for me to leave you．”。这些对话有些充满激情，有此蕴含人毕哲理，让听众回昧无穷，是语言学习者学习语言的很好素材。
除了这些可供语言学习者背诵、模仿、借用的精辟语段外，电影语言最显著的一个特点在于其口语化和真实性。由于电影涉及到社会生活各个方面，展现人们的不同生活，其广泛的题材、众多的人物、不同社会生活层面决定了电影语言的丰富性、真实性、口语化和生活化的特点。以动词make为例，在电影《阿甘正传》人物对话中前后出现近30次。代表性的语句有：
1)Dear God，make me a bird，so I can fly far，far，far away from here．(使……成为)
2)You just make your bed real neat and remember to stand up straight．(整理床铺)
3)I had to make sure he was okay．(确信)
