Presentation of the teaching plan At school

I. Teaching contents :(教学内容)

Hello, dear teachers and judges. Today I’m going to talk about the look and learn’’ part of Unit 7 At school, the Shanghai Oxford English , Grade 4A .

II. Teaching material analysis (教材分析)

     Grade 4A Unit 7 At school is the first unit in Module 3 Places and activities, and the other two units are At the shop and At home. The task of this unit is to have learners use sentence patterns to talk about different places in the school. The focus of this class is the names of the school facilities and how to introduce these places, so this class is the beginning and basic part of the unit.

1.Teaching aims:(教学目标)

1.1 Knowledge and skills:(知识与技能)

  (1) To enable the students to understand and speak the key words.

(2) To develop the students ability of introducing these places in the school.  

(3) To train the students ability of communication and working in groups.

The important teaching points: (教学重点)

  The key words: school, classroom, library, office, playground, toilet,

The difficult teaching points:(教学难点)  

   The pronunciation of the key words and their plural forms, especially library, libraries, office, and offices.

1.2 Process and steps: (过程与方法)

  Task-based learning, Student-centered teaching, Activity-based learning(individual work, pair work, group work, class work)  

1.3 Emotional attitude and values: (情感态度与价值观)

 To arouse the students to love their schools and classes.

III. Analysis of the students (学情分析)

  The students in Grade 4 have learned English for a year and they can understand and say some simple words and sentences like desks, chairs, This is , Its big , but they may forget them easily. So we should repeat the words and sentences they have learned again and again. At the same time, we can use them to lead in the new words and sentences.

V. Teaching procedures

StepI. Warming-up and lead-in

(1) Greetings and free talk.

(2) Do some TPR, for example: clap the hands and say loudly together, one, two, three, four, Sit up straight.  

(3) Review the numbers by counting boys and girls, desks and chairs and etc.

(4) T: Look at the picture. Whats this?

     Ss: Its a school.

T: How is your school? Is it big or small? Is it old or new?

Ss: Its

T: How many schools can you see? Is it old new?

Ss: I can see four schools.

Design Purpose: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding by speaking loudly and doing the total physical response and at the same time it provides situations to review learned knowledge for the next step.

Step II. Presentation

(1) Present the key words and their plural forms by showing pictures

T: Look, there is another picture of a school. What can you see? Ok, lets learn these places together.

T: Whats this ?

Ss: Its a classroom. (Ss read after the teacher with the rising tone and the falling tone)

T: What can you see in the classroom?

Ss: We can see a blackboard, many desks and chairs.

T: Yes. There is a blackboard in the classroom. There are many desks and chairs in the classroom.

T: What are they?

Ss: They are classrooms. (Ss read after the teacher with the rising tone and the falling tone)

To learn library, office, playground, toilet in the same way.

Design Purpose:

Step 3: Practice activities

(1) Group competition

 The Ss are divided into 4 groups. When the teacher show them the word cards, the group can get a star if the Ss in this group can say it out quickly and correctly.

(2) Read and guess

(3) Read and match

Step 4 Summary

   We love our school, it is very cool.
