Step 1: Lead-in

Activity: Free talk

Students will watch a video and have a free talk about environmental pollution.

Step 2: Presentation

Students will listen to and read the passage quickly, and they talk about the main idea of the passage.

The teacher will read the passage again, and students should underline the words and phrases that should be stressed in the sentences.

The teacher will guide students to conclude the rules of the sentence stress.

 Students should listen to the tape again, and pay more attention to the stress.

Step 3: Practice

Students will read the passage by themselves.

Students will be asked to read sentences on the screen with the correct sentence stress.

Step 4: Production

Activity: Speech contest

Students will watch a video and the teacher will set up a situation: If you're an environment mental volunteer, what should you do to protect the environment?

Step 5: Summary and homework

  1. Summary

    The teacher will guide students to summarize what they have leaned today.

    2. Homework

    a. Collect pearls of wisdom and read them with the correct stress.

    b. Prepare a show for the next class.
