教学目标

1) 语言知识目标：Master the key words and phrases: world, around the world , answer, different, cake, candle,age, make a wish, blow out, if, will, candy, lucky, popular, get popular, cut up, idea, bring goodluck to.

2). 能力目标：培养学生快速阅读、预测、细读等阅读技巧及归纳语篇、段落中心的能力，借助思维导图复述课文，提升学生的注意力和记忆力，同时学会谈论自己的生日，真正做到学以致用。

3).情感态度价值观目标：通过课文的学习要了解不同的国家有不同的风俗习惯，也要理解“When in Rome, we should do as the Romans do.”

1.学习阅读微技能，学会运用思维导图构建文章的结构；

2.运用所了解的生日文化及语言知识，指导学生进行写作的初步构思，达到知识迁移

展的目的。

Step 1  Warming-up and lead in

Teacher show a photo of one student whose birthday is today, ask the other student to say “happy birthday” to her. Next ask the student to guess what gift the teacher will send to her.

Guessing what gift the teacher will give the classmate. And students talk about what they will do for her.

通过学生身边人和身边事创设情境，激发学生的兴趣，把学生一下子调动起来。

Step 2  Pre-reading  

 ( Brainstorm)

Ask the students to talk about “ What do they usually eat or do on their birthday?”

List some food and activities on birthday.

就生日所进行的活动和吃的食物进行讨论，调动了学生的积极性，激发学生的学习热情,同时回顾已学的知识

Step 3 While-reading

1. Prediction: Ask the students to look at the picture, the title and the chart on the book, guess the main idea of the article

2.Fast-reading  Read the passage fast and silently to find the general idea of each paragraph

3. Careful reading

 1) read the article and complete the chart in 2b

 2) read again to find out other traditional customs about birthday food

4. Play a game---Lucky plate

通过设计不同的任务，引导学生运用阅读技能理解文章的大意、段落的大意及细节，培养学生自主探究的精神。任务的设置由易到难，学生可以更好的理解语言知识、掌握文本的信息，同时通过抢答游戏、幸运大转盘游戏调节课堂气氛，鼓励学生积极参与课堂教学，大胆发言。

教师在引导学生理解文本的同时，在黑板上构建文本的思维导图，通过思维导图引导学生回忆文本信息，能让学生记忆永久，既完成了任务又练习了口语。

这个环节的任务是训练学生进行知识迁移，结合自己的实际情况，运用所了解的生日文化和掌握的语言知识进行写作，是继复述之后对课堂教学效果的再次检验。

启发学生自己总结，以此培养学生的归纳能力，进一步巩固本课所学的重要内容。
