 人教版八年级下册英语

                 Unit 5 What were you doing when the

                           rainstorm came?

            Section A1a-1c教学设计

学情分析本课时主要学习过去进行时,围绕What were you doing这个话题展开学习与讨论,并懂得描述自己在过去的某个时间点或某种情境中正在做的事情。学生学过了个单元的英语,对整个课程的教学模式有了一定的了解,具备一定的听、说、读、写的基础。尤其是学生已经学过了现在进行时这也为本课时过去进行时的学习做了很好的铺垫进而通过本课时的进一步学习,使学生能够更加熟练地运用目标语言进行交际活动。

教材分析单元是人教版年级英语下册第单元,此单元主要围绕着“难忘事件”这一话题展开,结合学生亲身经历,练习讲述过去发生的事情。第一课时主要以认识过去进行时,会用过去进行时描述自己在某个时间段内做的事情为出发点展开思维、听力、口语和写作的练习。这一话题非常贴近学生生活实际,学生会很感兴趣。因此在教学设计中,我将以充分调动学生的积极性为前提,鼓励他们大胆开口,运用英语表达自己做过的相关的事情,并能根据提供情境写出一些相关的句子为最终教学目标。

教学目标

       At the end of the class, students will be able to:

1.understand the Past Progressive Tense and know how to use it..

2.use the Past Progressive Tense to describe things.

3.complete the passage using the Past Progressive Tense.

    教学重点:

 Students understand and know how to use the Past Progressive Tense to describe things.

   教学难点:

Complete the passage using the Past Progressive Tense.

   教学过程

   Ⅰ. Warming-up

       Step1.Play a game.

Ask three students to act run, read, play basketball,then ask other students: Whats he/she doing?...

      Step2.Review the Present Progressive Tense.

设计意图:通过做热身游戏让学生亲身体验现在进行时的用法,激发学生的思维,活跃课堂气氛,引起学生表达的欲望,激起学英语的兴趣。

     Ⅱ.Task 1 Understand the Past Progressive Tense and know how to use it.

      Step1.Show some sentences and pictures about the Present Progressive Tense, help students to make some sentences about the pictures by using the Past Progressive Tense.:

She was doing homework at this time yesterday.

He was playing basketball at that time yesterday.

She was waiting for the bus at 8:00 yesterday morning.

He was walking home when the rainstorm came.

From 8 to 10 yesterday , we were talking about the rainstorm.

设计意图:通过现在进行时和过去进行时的句子进行对比,启发学生理解及运用过去进行时态,通过一幅幅图片的对比,让学生对过去进行时态的运用更加明朗和清晰化。

     Step2.Make a summary.

  归纳总结:请同学们发现并找出——

     1.表示时间点的时间状语有___________________________________

     2.表示时间段的时间状语有___________________________________

     3.表示时间状语从句的句子___________________________________

   我们的结论是:

过去进行时态的构成是:_____/_____+_________.

它表示在过去的某一个___________________内正在进行的动作。

设计意图:让学生自己总结过去进行时态的构成、意义及标志词语,会让学生更加地印象深刻,更有成就感,进而进一步激发出学习英语的兴趣。

       Step3.Have a try!  (完成下列句子)

1.They _______________(have) a party at 8:00 yesterday.

2. I ________________ (swim) at that time last Sunday.

3.She ______________(play) computer games when the rainstorm came.

4.I __________________(take) a shower when you called me yesterday.

5.They _________________(wait) at the bus stop when the boy cried.

设计意图:通过对习题的练习进一步巩固过去进行时态的用法。

      Ⅲ. Task 2 Describe what you were doing at some time yesterday.

      Step1. Pair work

1. Practice in pairs.

A: What were you doing...( at 8 p.m. )yesterday?

B: I was doing my homework. What were you doing ...(at this time yesterday)?

A: I was...(playing basketball with my friends).

2. Show their conversations in class.

设计意图:让学生学会用过去进行时讲述自己的经历,激发英语学习兴趣之余,来活跃课堂气氛。

     Step2. Listening. 

1. Listen to the TV report and circle the correct responses.

a. doing my homework/ studying

b. playing basketball/ reading

c. going to work/ waiting for the bus

d. walking home/ shopping

2. Check the answers.

设计意图:本部分内容重在培养学生们听大意和听细节信息的能力,所以帮助学生听出对话的大意,尤其是关键问题的询问再去完成相应的细节题。

      Ⅳ. Task 3. Group work: Writing

1.Complete the passage using the Past Progressive Tense in groups.

Suppose (假定)there was a rainstorm at about 8 yesterday evening.Write down what you and your family members were doing at that time/when the rainstorm came. You can only choose one.

Sample 1

There was a rainstorm at about 8:00 yesterday evening. It was the heaviest one so far this year.Many people were caught (被困)in the rain.Luckily,my family and I were ________________.My mother __________________when the rainstorm came.My father_____________________.My sister/brother___________________at that time.What was I doing at the time of the rainstorm? Oh, I ______________.I dont like the rainstorm,because it brings too many problems.

Sample 2

设计意图:以读促写,以说促写,以练促写,通过对上面各个环节的练习,让学生最终把目标语言输出为自己的语言,自己灵活运用的语言。
