Step 1 Pre -listening

1. Lead-in    

Ss look the pictures and answer the questions.

2. New lesson

  Look and say. The teacher shows the pictures of new words and let the students to say as quickly as possible.

3. Match the words in the box with the pictures.

1. Look at the words first.

2. Choose the right word for each picture.

 

Step 2 While-listening

 1. Listen to Part 2 and check what’s wrong with Betty and Daming.

 2. Listen to Part 3 and answer the two questions:

     2. I haven’t done much exercise since I got my computer last year.

2. Now complete the table about Daming.

Step 6 Everyday English

    Let Ss say what they have learnt in the passage.

   Ss should master the main points from the passage in Part 3. If possible, let the students to say at first.

     Step 8 Complete the passage with the words in the box

1. Read the passage carefully.

2. Choose the right words in the box.

3. Draw the right answers from each group.

Step 9 Listen and notice the intonation

1. Ss read and predict which words the speaker is likely to read.

2. Now listen and check if it is right.

3. Work in pairs. Read the sentences aloud.

Step 10 Acting

 Work in pairs. Act out a conversation between a doctor and a patient.

Student A: You are a doctor.

Student B: You are at the doctor’s. Choose one of the illnesses from the box in Activity 1.

Step I Warming-up

Watch and discuss

Ss watch the video Organ Story and talk about the following questions.

Ø What does the man do to make his body worse?

Ø Can you give him some advice about keeping healthy?

设计意图:通过观看有关身体器官的动画视频,再通过问题的讨论与思考,引出本单元有关健康的话题,激发学生的学习热情。

Think and say

T let Ss think about how to keep healthy? Then Ss share their opinions.

Look and answer

T shows some pictures to Ss and talk about some questions about health.

T: Now let’s review what we have learned last class. Look at the pictures and think about the questions—What’s wrong with the people? What should he or she do? What are they doing while they are watching TV? Is eating food while watching TV healthy?

设计意图:通过图片复习所学内容,加深学生对已学知识的印象。

Step Ⅱ Pre-reading

Activity 1

1. Ask Ss to look at the pictures and talk about what they see. Ask Ss to write down the activities and say if they are healthy.

2. Learn new words. Ask Ss to read chorally and individually, and then correct their pronunciation.

Language points

by doing sth. 表示“通过某种方式”,how引导的特殊疑问句提问。

take part in 指参加活动,如体育运动、比赛、游戏或讨论,含有积极参与并发挥作用之意,多用于正式场合。

注意与joinjoin in的区别:

join多指加入某一个组织或某些人,成为其中一员。

join in 指参加活动,在口语中可与take part in通用。

3. She is in excellent condition too. 她的身体状况也很好。

in excellent conditionin condition表示“健康状况良好”

out of condition则指“健康状况不佳”

4. Perhaps I am too weak to do any exercise. 也许我身体太弱了不能参加运动。

too…to…表否定含义,表示“太……而不能”

e.g. My brother is too young to go to school. 我弟弟年龄太小,不能上学。

设计意图:通过教师的讲解掌握本课知识点。

Activity 4

1. Ask Ss to read the words in the box and check their pronunciation.

2. Have Ss work individually to complete the sentences with the words in the box.

3. Have Ss compare the answers with their desk partners, and then check as a whole class. 

设计意图:通过填空练习以及回答问题,检测学生对文本内容的理解程度。

Activity 5

1. Put Ss in pairs and tell them to look at the pictures and discuss.

2. Ask Ss to read the questions, then work with their partners and write notes to answer them.
