作业要求 :  在实际教学过程中,信息技术已经改变了我们的教学传统模式,请结合本次培训所学知识和自己的教学特点,组织实施一节使用信息技术改变教学的课,并提交本节课的教学设计方案。

Unit 9  Can you come to my party?

Period 1   Section A (1a-2b)

一、Teaching aims: 

1. Knowledge aims:

1) the Ss can use the following words and phrases: 

prepare, prepare for, exam, flu, available, another time, until, hang, hang out, catch, invite, accept, refuse

2) the Ss will be able to make/ accept/ refuse an invitation with the following sentence pattern:

   Can you come to my party on Saturday afternoon?  

—Sure, Id love to. \Sorry, I cant. I have to ...\Im sorry, too. I must

   —Thats too bad.

   —Maybe another time. 

  ----Thanks for asking.

3) the Ss will be able to use such modal verbs like can, may, must and semi-modal verbs like have to

2.Skill aims:

  The Ss will improve their listening and speaking.

3. Emotional aims:

  The Ss will be able to know how to make/ accept/refuse an invitation in a polite  way.

二、Key and difficult teaching points:

1. Key teaching points:

How to make, accept, and decline invitations. Talk about obligations.

2. Difficult teaching points:

The use of modal verbs: can, might, must.

三.Teaching methods:

1.student-centered teaching method.

2.group-cooperation. (role-play, pair work)

四、Teaching aids: blackboard, multi-media, tape recorder.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1.  Leading in

Play a short video from a TV series Big Bang to get to know how to invite somebody to a party. Then let the Ss try to retell the scene.

Step 2  Presentation

1: Show pictures and learn the phrases in 1a. (guess, read and recite)

T: Look at the pictures and ask students to tell what they see.

   2: Match the words with the pictures and check the answers. 

3: Play the recorder. Ask students to complete the activity individually.

T: listen to the recorder. Write the name of each person next to his or her picture.

Step 3  Practice

         1. Read the conversation together.

   2. Give an example: T: Can you come to my party?

Ask some students to answer. Ask the students who can’t come to tell the reasons.

Call attention to the words in activity 1a.

         3. Ask some groups to act. (show the key words on the PPT)

         4. Game: One student invite some students to his \her party. The other students answer.  

         5. Listening: 2a+2b

Step4  Consolidation

   1.Call attention to the points listed in activity 2b.

   2. Ask students to make their own conversation like the example. As students work, move around the room and monitor.

   3.Ask students to present their conversations.

   Step 5  Summary

Ask students to sum up what we have learned this class.

Step 6  Homework

   1. Practice: Invite your friends to come to your home for dinner. Write down their answers.

   2. Recite the conversation 1c.
