Unit7 Protect the Earth ( period 1 )

教学内容】:译林版牛津英语六年级上册Unit7 Protect the Earth Story time

教学目标】:

1. 学生能初步理解并且会听、会说、会读和会拼写单词及词组:usemuchoilglass等,和会运用句型:we
use... to...

2. 学生能初步听懂并且会说、会读单词protect the Earthcoalsave energy, come from cut downwaste waterreuseplastic,
wood, too much, useful
等。

3. 学生能初步感知情态动词shouldshouldn’t的用法


4. 学生能初步感知保护环境的重要性,培养学生热爱地球,保护地球的意识,了解更多保护地球的方法。
教学重难点

教学准备:图片   ppt课件
教学理念:本课教学以学生的实际生活为出发点,通过展示水,树木,能源等在我们生活中的重要性,来提高人们保护地球的意识。通过对本课时的学习,学生应该提高自己保护地球的意识。让学生在使用语言的过程中完善知识结构,发展思维能力,培养语言运用能力。
教学方法:教材在新课程的理念下, 不再一成不变, 牛津英语教材本身内容丰富、 包罗万象。本节课中,在学生对课文内容有了一定的了解后,通过趣味阅读,充分认识现今社会存在的环境问题,认识到保护地球环境的重要性。
教学过程
Step1. Greeting and lead-in
1. Greetings
2.  Sing a songTwo little blackbirds
Question: why do the little blackbirds fly away?
引导学生用Unit6 所学知识回答:
Because the air is dirty.
Because there aren’t any trees on the hill. They have no
home.

T: Now our living environment is polluted, so we should
protect the Earth.
——出示课题并教读。We
should make the Earth a better place for you and me, and the entire human race.

设计意图:通过歌曲引入本课的主题,既缓解了紧张的课堂气氛,又能让学生初步感知保护地球环境的重要性。
Step 2. Pre-reading
1.出示无污染的地球图片。
TLook, the
Earth is a beautiful place. There are many kinds of sources in it. Do you know
some of them? ( water, trees, air etc.)

2.Guessing game
T: Here are another sources. Let’s guess what they are.
It’s black and hard. We can
find it under the ground. It can make us warm. There’s a lot of it in Shanxi. (
coal )

It’s a black liquid. We can
find it under the ground too. Cars need it. ( oil )

It’s usually white and thin.
We can write and draw on it. ( paper )

It comes from trees. We use it
to make tables, desks, chairs, beds and many other things. ( wood )

It’s light and soft, but it’s
strong. It’s widespread in our life. ( plastic )

设计意图:通过一个短片开场,吸引学生眼球,渲染英语学习的气氛。通过视频让学生能进一步了解本堂课的主题:We
should love and protect our Earth.
渗透情感教育,我们要热爱地球、保护地球。Guessing
game
很好的调动了学生学习英语的兴趣,激发他们想说敢说的愿望,并且能快速掌握课文里重点词汇。

3.T: They are useful things for us, how do we use them?
 For example: We
use coal and oil to make energy.

 板书: use... to...
引导学生说出 waterwoodpaperplastic等资源的用法。
 E.g. We use water
to clean things, wash clothes, cook food...

 We use paper
to make books.


      We use wood
to make tables, chairs, beds and other things.



      We use
plastics to make bags and bottles.


设计意图:由学生说一说文中是如何使用资源的,能让学生较易的知道use
to
的用法,以及后面加动词原形。
Step 3. While- reading
呈现一幅被污染的地球图片。
TLook at this
picture. Is it still beautiful? Today, there is a lot of pollution. We should
protect the Earth at once.(
点题) What can we do?

1. Watch the cartoon and find the four key points of the
text.


  ( save water,
save energy, save trees and don’t use too much plastic)
并板书。


2. Listen to the tape and answer the questions.
① What do you think of water? (useful)
② What do we use water to do? (drink, clean things)
③ Is there a lot of water everywhere?no
④ What shouldn’t we do?(waste)
⑤ What should we do? (reuse,save)
教师根据学生回答进行板书。
3. Read the
second part and judge.

① Most of our energy comes from coal and oil. (T)


② There is a lot of coal and oil on Earth. (F)
③ We should drive cars every day. (F)
④ Cars use lots of energy. (T)
设计意图:在提问题时注意问题的难度,从易到难,注重给不同层次的学生自信感,并给孩子们一些 learning tips 学习方法小提示:当我们看较长短文时,可以尝试速记,如时间、地点、人物等。教之授鱼之法,让学生学会学习。 
呈现光头强砍树的画面。
T: What is he doing?
S1: He is cutting down trees. 教学 cut down
T: Is he right?  What should we do?
S1:We should stop him from cutting down the trees now.
T:Why?
引导学生说出 Trees help keep the air clean.
4. 塑料瓶、塑料袋实物展示。
  T: we use plastic
to make bags and bottles. We often use them in our daily life. Do you often use
them?

 呈现课文图片。
 T: Look at this
picture. What do you think of it? 

 引出句子:Too much plastics is bad for the Earth.
 T: What should we
do?

 学生自读课文,并在文中划出关键词句。

Step 4. Post-reading


1. Read the whole passage loudly and finish the exercise ”
think and write” on page70, and then check the answers.

2. Retell the text according to the blackboard design.
3. Brain-storm.
 T: The Earth is so
important for us. We should protect it. Now I’ll give you some suggestion. Can
you tell me what we can do.

E.g. T: To protect the Earth, we should save water.
  S1: Water is important.
S2: Water is useful.
S3: We drink water every day.
S4: Trees and flowers need water.
S5: We should reuse water.
S6: We shouldn’t waste water.

4. Introduce the slogan “ Save the world, save our lives.”
to the students.


设计意图:回到开始的故事,提问怎样让地球妈妈开心,让学生复述保护地球的方式,运用should/shouldn’t对所学内容进行巩固。最后,提出保护地球,从我做起。
