Is it necessary to learn pronunciaton?

Pronunciton is integrated in language learning and it plays an important role in listening, speaking and spelling. It is helpful for children to grasp good pronunciation. In communitcation, listeners need to be able to hear and pronunce the language eligible enough for others to understand.

Good pronunciation helps to make communication successful. What's more, phonetic knowledge can make word recognition and spelling much more easily.

What should be included in teaching pronunciation?

Pronunciation includes stress, rhyme and intonation as well as individual sounds. "Learning pronuncition should not be limited to finding primary stress and comparing individual vowel and consonant sounds in a given word, as has often been the case with pronunciation learning in the past."

For children, it is more important to help them develop phonetic awareness which means  to be aware of the connection between letters and sounds, to be able to feel the rhyme of the language and to understand and produce sounds.
