1.appreciate   and comment on two poems about parents’ love.

2.learn to analyze a   poem in terms of rhyme and poetic image.

  教学难点：

1.teach   students to learn English poetry through the experience of leaning Chinese   poetry
  2. teach students to connect their own experiences to the poem and feel   mother’s deep love for her baby.

教学过程

Step 1 Lead-in

1. T leads Ss to   appreciate the quote from Bing Xin and asks them to translate it in Chinese.

2. T encourages Ss to express   their understandings of “home”.

【设计意图：引导学生通过翻译、朗读、理解、对比等活动来欣赏名人名言，引出主题。】

Step 2 Listening and reading

1. T has Ss listen to   the poem and asks them to figure   out its theme and unique style.

2. T has Ss read the poem together   and asks them to pay attention to   the rhymes.

【设计意图：综合运用学生听觉与视觉，引导学生感知诗歌主题并了解藏头诗的形式；激活学生已有的背景语言知识，   引导学生感知英语诗歌的韵律。】

Step 3 Analysis and appreciation

1.T has Ss figure out the structure of the poem as   well as the main idea of each part;

2.T has Ss read the poem aloud together again and   asks them to figure out its poetic images;

3.T   shows Ss a Chinese poem in English and asks them to compare it with the first   poem.

【设计意图：分析理解阶段，通过分析诗歌结构和意象并有策略地提取细节信息，更好地理解诗歌的主旨。帮助学生更好地理解母爱。】

Step4 Homework

1.read the English   poem again.

2.search for more   Chinese poems about parents’ love and try to translate one or two of them   into English.

【设计意图：课后在语境中再次梳理与复习本篇诗歌，并寻找类似诗歌进行翻译及对比分析。】
