1． 教材分析

   本单元的中心话题是“农业”， 学生通过讨论和阅读了解有关农业、农村和农作物种植的内容。READING 部分介绍中国著名的农业科学家袁隆平的生平和他的杂交水稻。第一段描述了袁博士的外表——他更象一个农民而不象一个科学家，农村就是他做科研的殿堂。他的科研成果就是超级杂交水稻。 第二段描述他的家庭出身，学业，献身水稻科研的原因及所取得的成就。第三段告诉我们袁博士过着跟普通人一样的生活却干着伟大的事业。即使在功成名就之后，他也淡泊名利, 有着无私奉献的高尚精神。

1.1  Enable Ss to learn more about agriculture, countryside and farming.

1.2  Help Ss learn how to describe Dr Yuan Longping including his personality.

1.3  Help to comprehend the text and grasp the main idea of the text.

1.4  How to help students make up their minds to make contributions to motherland in the future like Dr Yuan.

1.Use two questions to let the Ss realize rice's importance and how to solve the shortage of rice.(discuss in pairs)

1.Scan the text and find out the topic sentence of each paragraph and then conclude the main idea of each one.

1. Let Ss listen to the tape, and then finish Exercise1and 3 on Page11.

Step ⅥSummary and Homework

Today we talked about agriculture. And we also read about Dr Yuan Longping. We have known much about the great scientist. Of course we have learned some words and expressions about farming. Please try to grasp these words and expressions after class.

3.课后反思

   在教学设计方面，对教材进行重组，把Warming Up，Pre-reading 和Reading 有效地整合在一起。学生在讨论完农业种植的步骤之后，紧接着引导学生展开粮食危机的思考以及解决办法。学生普遍都能积极参与，虽然大多数学生词汇量不足，但并不影响他们的热情。学生探讨解决办法的同事引出农业科学家-----袁隆平。衔接自然，又激发学生阅读的欲望。不足之处在于学生缺乏课前准备，讨论中经常受阻。在教学策略和教学评价方面，培养学生的自主学习能力，以任务型教学为主。 只有通过辅导学生掌握一套科学的学习方法，并培养学生的自学能力，才能使学生的学习积极性和像主动性得以发挥。我的具体做法是：培养学生的预习能力，各种方法掌握英语基本知识的能力，学生自己整理所学知识的能力。并且能通过学生作业的反馈对自己的教学效果作出评价。
