1.The analysis of teaching material

It includes two parts:Let’s learn and let’s talk

2. The analysis of students

Ss have learnt English for 3 years , they have already some English knowledge of listening and speaking,so it is not difficult for them to learn this unit.

3. Teaching aims

a.Language knowledges

①Be able to listen,speak,read and write the words and phrases

dictionary, comic book, word book, postcard;
2. Be able to master the sentence pattern：Where are we going? To the bookstore. What are you going to buy? I’m going to buy …
b.Language skills

①Be able to master the words ：dictionary, comic book, word book, postcard;

②Ss can use the sentence “Where are we going? To the bookstore. What are you going to buy? I’m going to buy …
”in real situations.

Key points:Ss can master the new words  dictionary, comic book, word book, postcard.

Step 1 Warm up

1: Let’s chant “Saturday Saturday this Saturday”
2. Review: “What are you going to do this weekend?”
Step2: Presentation

3. Free talks: talk about your weekend plan
(1) Questions:

Do you often go to the bookstore? What kind of books do you want to buy in the bookstore?
2. Learn the new words
(1) present “postcard”
Show them a thick book, listen to the tape.：post----card
(2)Present “ dictionary”
Show them some dictionaries.：dic---tion---ary
Read after the tape.
Spell the words and write them on the exercise book.

Read the sentences include the above words together
(3)Present “newspaper”
Show them a newspaper: “ Is this a dictionary?”
“No, it’s a newspaper.”
Spell together: news—pa--per
(4)Present “ word book”
Show some pictures, can you tell me what is it?
Listen to the tape.
Spell the words.
