一、教学目标：

  5.Basketball has not only become a popular sport to play, but it has also become a      popular sport to watch.

  （1）not only…, but also…  不但……而且……  若连接两个并列主语，谓语动词与靠近的主语保持一致。（就近原则）

  翻译：不但李莉而且她的儿子喜欢这本书。

 （2）以not only…, but also… 连接的两个并列句子，当Not only位于句首时往往引起部分倒装。

   翻译：我不仅能做到这件事而且能把它做好。

6. The number of foreign players, including Chinese players, in the NBA has increased.

1) the number of… “…的数量；…的数目”。作主语时，谓语动词应用单数形式。

  2) a number of… “大量的，一些”，修饰可数名词。作主语时，谓语动词应用复数形式。
