教学目标  

1 Learning objectives for knowledge 1) Get students to learn and grasp the important useful new words and expressions 2) Let students learn about different types of music 2 Learning objectives for language skills 1) Enable students to learn to talk about different kinds of music 2) Improve the studentsreading ability through reading about bands 3 Learning objectives for emotion 1) Arouse students' great interest in music and bands.

2学情分析  

本节课的教学对象是高中一年级的学生,他们已经掌握了一定的阅读技巧和技能,形成了初步的阅读策略。但一部分学生的基础知识仍然较为薄弱,运用英语进行交际活动的能力较差,然而他们求知欲旺盛,好胜心强,很在乎别人的评价,思维比较活跃;另一部分学生的基础较好,能主动表达自己的观点,爱表现。因此,只要设置他们感兴趣的学习活动,因材施教,才能让他们投入到课堂活动中来。

3重点难点  

Teaching Important Points 1) Learn the key and useful words and phrases listed. 2) Practise listening ability. 3) Let students to learn different reading skills in the context.

Teaching Difficult Points 1) To improve the students' reading skills and reading strategies. 2) To help the students understand the implied meaning of the passage. 3) Improve students' spoken English.

4.1 第一学时

4.1.1教学活动

活动1【导入】Lead-in  

1 Play and enjoy the music of the Beatles. 

2 Introduce the band briefly.

3 Talk about your favourite band and the reasons, then share the idea with the class.

活动2【讲授】Pre-listening  

1 According to the pictures, predict what happened to the frog.

2 Guess and learn about some new words through pictures.

活动3【讲授】Listening  

1 Listen for the first time to get the main idea (1 sentence to summarize)

2 Listen for the second time for details to do T or F questions. (Correct the false statements)

活动4【讲授】Reading  

1 Fast reading-- To summarize the main idea of each part.

2 Careful reading-- To answer some detailed questions.

3 Summary-- Fill in the blanks to practise using key words and expressions of the whole passage.

活动5【活动】Discussion  

Discuss in groups about the advantages and disadvantages of being famous.

Role-play the famous people, their families, their friends, their neighbours, etc.

Create the situations and make dialogues about the convenience and the trouble of being famous in their daily life.

活动6【作业】Summary & Assignment  

1 Review the language points.

2 Find more information to learn about your favourite band.

3 Write a short passage about whether or not you'd like to be famous.
