Step 1: Lead-in

Show Ss news about Han Geng who will be the first common person to space and introduce the topic by asking: Who was the first Chinese to space?

 

 

Learn the news and answer the question.

(possible answer :Yang Liwei)

Arouse Ss’ interest and warm up.

Step 2: Vocabulary

From now on ,let Ss have a competition.

Competition1:Word competition to check the word learning.

 

 

Have a competition about the words and have a good understanding of the words usage.  

Consolidate the vocabulary and prepare Ss for reading.

Step 3: Reading. 1.Skimming

Let Ss match the subheadings with each part and grasp reading skills by answering questions.

1. Let Ss fill in the form according to five elements of news.

2. Let Ss find the sentences which are connected with number information.

Let Ss retell the text using the useful information.

 

Retell the most important parts of the passage using the useful information practiced before.

Guide Ss to prepare an interview about Yang Liweis flight in space and his preparation  work.
