Unit 6 Topic 1
Section A
教材分析:
本课是话题一的第一课时。本课的主要活动是1a, 2a和4a。将通过Maria去Jane家拜访的情景呈现本课的主要内容,学习用there be句型表达各房间及屋内基本摆设。本课贴近学生的实际生活,因此,教师可引导学生结合自己家的房屋设计进行口头和笔头操练,提高学生学习的兴趣,调动他们的学习积极性。
Ⅰ. Teaching aims and demands
1. Learn the rooms in homes:
Bedroom,kitchen,dining room, living room, bathroom
2. (1)Learn the prepositions:
in, on, next to, in front of, behind
(2)Learn how to use the sentences of “there be”:
- Is there a computer in your study?
- Yes,there is.
- Are there any bedrooms on the first floor?
- No,there aren’t.
There are so many nice books on the shelf.
Ⅱ. Teaching important and difficult points:
1.The usage of prepositions:in, on, next to, in front of, behind
2.Enable the students to use “ there be”

Step 1 Review & learn the new words (7 minutes)
Review the present continuous by making sentences. Show the pictures of the new words to make the sentences.
E.g. T: What’s he doing?
S1: He is working on the computer.
T: Where is he working?
S1:He is in the study.(幻灯片呈现新单词,并帮助学生回答,注意in的用法)
...(用以上方法继续学习其他的新单词)
Step 2 Presentation (5 minutes)
Present the 2a picture,and let the students match the words or phrases with the places,check the answers.Then read the words or phrases in groups.(幻灯片展示2a图片)
Listen, follow and imitate . Learn and master “on the first floor”& “on the second floor”
Work in pairs.Describe the picture in 2a with the following structures:
This is a nice home. There is/are ... on the first/second floor ...(幻灯片展示答案)
Show the answers to the students.
Step 3 Consolidation (10 minutes)
Do 1b. Look at the picture in 1a. Answer the questions:
①What can you see in the picture?
②Do you like the house?
③What are they doing?
Then listen to the tape to check your answers. Listen again and choose the correct answer in 1b.
Do 1c. Fill in the blanks individually. Then check your answers with your partner.
The students work in groups to find out the the key points. The teacher give some explanation.
Step 4 Practice (10 minutes)
Do 1a. Practice 1a in pairs. Then some pairs act out the conversation to the whole class.
Step 5 Production (5 minutes)
Individual work. Draw a picture of your home individually first. Then talk about your home with your group members. Tell them which room you like best and why. Finally, some students show your pictures to the whole class and describe your favorite room and give the reason.(将学生作品用展台展示出来)
Step 6 Exercise (5 minutes)
Fill in the blanks with "is/are".
1. There ______ a pen in my hand.
2. There ______ some juice in the glass.
3. ____ there a study on the second floor?
4. There _____ some books on the shelf.

Step 7 Sum up & homework (3 minutes)
1.Sum up the key points of this lesson.

Teaching reflection:
在本课中,学生学会了用there be句型来描述书本上以及自己家的房间,并能够表达、谈论自己最喜欢的房间。本课的生词量比较大,部分学生没办法当堂掌握并熟练运用这些表示房间的词汇,因此教师应当多关注学困生,在他们学习的过程中,给予更多的帮助,帮助他们顺畅地完成课堂英语的学习,给他们创造机会,引导其他同学也来帮助他们,养成同学之间互相帮助、共同合作的好习惯。
