一、教学目标:

1.Knowledge aims

2) Students can understand some sentence patterns

Tina is taller than Tara. 

Sam has longer hair than Tom.

She also sings more loudly than Tara.

   Students can grasp the comparatives of adjctive and adverbial.

   Students can understand some sentence patterns of comparatives.

Students can describe peoples’ looks and compare people.

三、教学过程

. Lead-in

1. The teacher show two pictures about Linzhiling(林志玲) and Hanhong(韩红),Ask Ss to describe these two people,then write down as many adj. about people as possible. Check the adj. Ss write and we can group them into some pairs, like: [Section A]

  tall --- short;  thin --- heavy,  long hair --- short hair,  calm --- wild …

 

. Presentation

 Give Ss an example by comparing Linzhiling and Hanhong.

 e.g

Linzhiling is taller than Hanhong. Hanhong is shorter than Linzhiling.

Linzhiling is thinner than Hanhong. Hanhong is fatter than Linzhiling.

Linzhiling has longer hair than Hanhong. Hanhong has shorter hair than Linzhiling.

Summarize the rules 

A + be(V)  + 比较级 + than + B.

. Listening

Then listen to the recording. Ask Ss to number the twins.

Check the answers. 

. Pair work

Point out the sample conversation in activity.

Say, now work with a partner. Make your own conversation about the twins.

Ask several pairs to say one or more of their conversations.

1. Work on:

Point out the two columns and read the headings: -er, -ier and more. Then point out the words in the box. Read them.

Say, now listen and write the –er and –ier words in the first column and the words that use more in the second column.

Play the recording and check the answers.

2. Work on 2b.

Point out the picture and the two boxes with the headings Tina is and Tara is.

Say, listen to the recording. Write word in the boxes. The words are from the list in activity.

Play the recording and check the answers.

五、教学反思:

本课主要学习形容词的比较级和副词的比较级。对于学生来说有点难,但又是与实际生活密切相关的,有助于学生理解学习。我主要从以下几点入手:首先,先从学生熟悉的明星入手,问学生他们长得怎么样,引出描绘长相的形容词,然后引导学生,如何比较他们两个人,引出形容词和副词比较级的构成。第二,比较级的用法。句型是比较级+than" ,引出来后,多次练习运用,例如:Tina is taller than me.第三,创设环境,加强语言的运用。新知呈现后,结合生活实际例子进行了大量的听、说练习,有listening,Pair-work,group-work等。本课的教学任务是训练学生的英语思维,培养学生运用语言的能力,在循序渐近的教学过程中,学生会熟悉本课的结构、内容和新的语言知识。同时把学生导入到相关的模拟交际的情境中,培养学生综合运用语言的能力。
