教材分析
本课是第18单元的第1课的阅读部分。本课的语篇是一篇有关“什么是美”的文章。学生将在本课获得“什么是美”的有关信息，学习一些用来描述美的词汇，理解文章大意，使用略读、细读等阅读策略。学生要将阅读信息内化，转换成自己的语言，并针对什么是真正的美发表自己的看法，懂得美是多维度的，审美标准不同，但内在美才是最重要的。
本课计划用一个课时完成：重点是阅读文章，让学生学习有关美及描述美的词汇，懂得什么是真正的美。使用略读和细读等阅读策略，从文章中提取信息，处理信息，理解文章的结构。
教学内容
话题： 什么是美？
词汇： 重点词汇：beholder, consistent, commitment, inner, physical, subjective, dimension, flock

教学反思：本节课作为一节典型的阅读课，除了训练学生语境猜词，阅读技巧外，还要通过文本培养学生的情感态度价值观，而整节课需要改善的地方我觉得是语言输出部分，可将说写结合，将作业部分设计为写作练习。
