Ⅰ. Material analysis
本节课是第七单元话题二的第一课时,主要围绕康康的生日聚会展开,主要活动是1a,2和4a。通过谈论自己在生日聚会上要表演的节目,呈现本课的语言点,同时学习情态动词can表示个人能力,谈论会做和不会做的事情的表达方式:I can only sing English songs. I can’t sing Chinese songs.从而训练学生说的技能并输出新功能用语。
Ⅱ. Teaching aims
1. Knowledge aims
能根据已学语音、音标及发音规则,正确朗读下列词汇并运用于情景对话中:else, piano, disco, perform, ballet
能正确使用选择疑问句的提问和回答,如:
—Do you want to sing Chinese songs or English songs?
—Chinese songs.
能够谈论会做和不会做的事情:
(1)I can only sing English songs.
(2)I can’t sing Chinese songs.
2. Skill aims
能够听懂有关能做和不能做的事情的对话;
能够在教师的帮助下用所学表达法叙述现在能做和不能做的事情;
能够用正确地语音、语调朗读对话;
能够参照图片写出简单的句子。
3. Emotional aims
通过采用英文歌曲、对话、表演等灵活多样的授课方式,培养学生学习英语的兴趣; 鼓励学生敢于开口,积极参与活动。

Step 1 Introduction
1.Greet students and sing a song I can sing it well—Can you swim? Yes, I can. Can you fly? No, I can’t. Can you...? Yes, I can. I can ...well. Let students sing it after the tape for several times. Then sing the song together.
2.Teach the new words:, piano, disco, perform, ballet
3.Create a situation: A student will have a birthday party. Everyone will go to the party. Now, they are talking about what they will do at the party.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Let students watch the flash carefully, then answer the questions:
(1).What would Maria like to do at Kangkang’s birthday ?
(2).Does Maria want to sing Chinese songs or English songs ?
(3).Can Jane sing Chinese songs ?
(4).What would Jane like to do at the birthday party ?
2.Let students answer the questions. Then point out the key sentences on the blackboard.
3.Ask some students to answer the questions: Do you want to ... or ...? Can you ...or...? Choose some students to make a summary about the Or Questions.
4.Play the tape and let students read after the tape again; Choose some students to read the dialog in pairs.
5.Let students match Jane and Maria with what they can do at Kangkang’s birthday party.
Step 3 .Consolidation
1.Let students work in pairs and make up a conversation about what they can do at a birthday party.
2.Choose some pairs to show their conversations. Then show the picture in 2 and play the tape, let students make T/F in their books. Let one student check the answers.
Step 4. Summary
