Unit5 Why do you like pandas?

Section  A(1a-1c)教学设计

Teaching Aims and Demands: 

Knowledge Objects:  

Key vocabulary: zoo, tiger, lion, panda, giraffe, koala, elephant, cute, smart, scary, beautiful, lazy. 

Target Language:    

—Let’s see the pandas first.      

—Why?    

—Because they are cute/lazy… 

—Why do you /don’t you like…?   

—Because… 

Ability Objects:

Try to train students’ speaking skills.  

Try to train students’ listening skills. 

Moral Objects :

Animals are our friends, try to protect them, love animals, and love ourselves.

Teaching Procedures :

Step1. Warming-up 

Listen to the sound of tigers and lions.

Divide the students into tiger team and lion team.

Step2. Leading-in  

Get the students to watch a cartoon  video and then answer the questions.  

Step3. Presentation

1. Present the  new words  of animals,adjectives and target language  by playing a guessing game. 

A. Look and guess what animal it is,then learn words about animals.

B. Use pictures of animals to teach adjectives by asking"Do you like...?Why?Do you want to see...?"   ,Lead the students to answer"Because...".

2. Consolidate the words of animals,adjectives and t arget language by playing a memory game and chanting.

Step4. Finishing the tasks 

1. Work with 1a. Let the students match the words with the animals. 

2. Work with 1b. Let the students listen to three conversations and check the animals.

3.Listen to 1b again.Let the students fill in the blanks to finish the three conversations.

4. Work with 1c. Show the target languages on the screen, and let the students work in pairs to practice the dialogue.  

Step5. Practice and have fun

Let the students choose one animal to practice.

Step6.  Moral teaching  and summary

Tell the students that animals are our friends, to love animals is to love ourselves.

Sum up the key words and sentence drills .  

Step7. Homework 

Search(收集) the pictures of the animals you like and describe(描述) them. Make a poster of your favorite animal,  tell people why you like them and ask people to help them.
