祈使句的运用与规则的实施

(4)Structure: Imperatives (Don't ...) Can for permissions. Modal verbs have to, must. 2.Ability Objects The students can make some rules in English. 3.Moral Objects The students can talk about the rules and follow the rules. Teaching Key Points Talking about the rules. Teaching Difficult Points Some points about the imperative sentence. Teaching Methods Summarizing. Accumulating. Role-playing. Teaching Aids A tape recorder. Some pictures. Media. 

Teaching Procedures

 Step 1 Discuss:1 Can we eat in class? 2 Can we run in the hallways?  3 We  Can listen to music in the classroom or the hallways? 

Step 2 Presentation (about 5 minutes) Show students a picture of a teacher and some pictures of students who are breaking school rules. T: Are they good students? What rules are these students breaking? 

Step 3 Match (about 5 minutes) Finish 1a. Let the students look at the picture and say what rules do the students break. Let them say it one by one and let the students read the school rules in the left box. Then match them.

Step 4 Listening (about 5 minutes) Finish 1b. First let students guess what rule Peter/ Selina/Mike is breaking. Let students listen to the tape, and ask them whether they have guessed correctly or not.

Step 5 Competition (about 15 minutes) Have a competition between boys and girls, let them say as many school rules as they can. Have a talk like this: T: There are many school rules in our school. What rules are they? Can you name any of them? S1: Don't eat in class. S2: We can't fight. Practiced in pairs like this: A: Can you fight? B: No, we can't. We can't fight. A: So, don't fight. Teach these important expressions: school rules (keep the rules 遵守规则, break the rules 违反规则) be late for class=arrive late for class 

Step 6 1c (about 5 minutes) Let students work in pairs, and practice the dialogue like: A: Can we arrive/be late for class? B: No, we can't. We can't arrive /be late for class. A: So, don't arrive /be late for class. T: What are the school rules? S1: We can't arrive late for class. S2: We can't run in the hallways. 

Step 7 Summary (about 5 minutes) In this class, we have learnt: 1.words: rule, classroom, hallway, arrive, listen to, fight, sorry 2.sentences: Don't arrive late for class. Don't run in the hallways. Don't eat in the classroom. Don't listen to music in the class. Don't fight. 

Step 8 Homework (about 1 minute) Finish off the exercise.
