Teaching Steps
Step one: Lead-in
T: Good morning, everyone.
Ss: Good morning, Miss song.
T: How are you today?
Ss: ...
T: Do you like the weather today?
Ss: ...
T: Why? (Lead the topic-weather) today we are talking about weather, please turn to page 37.
Write down the title on the blackboard.
Step Two: Presentation
1、show the pictures of weather on PPT, learn the new words:raining/rainy, windy, cloudy, sunny, snowy/snowing. Read and recite the five words.
T: in picture one,the people are wearing raincoats, because the weather is raining.(write the word on the blackboard)
......
Find out the rules from the words: 名词末尾加y,变成形容词。
2、ask students to finish 1a, match the words with the pictures.
3、T: How is the weather in Beijing? Ss: It’s sunny.
Write down the key sentences:
--How is the weather (+place)?/ What is the weather like (+ place)?
-- It’s +weather.
Step Three: Listening
1. Pre-listening:a.Read the listening request in 1b, pay attention to the city names: Moscow, Toronto, Boston
b.predict the city names according to the pictures
2. While-listening: listen to the tape, write down the city names in the box. (teaching skill: listen to the key words)
3. Post-listening: Check students answers.
Ask and answer: Teacher: How is the weather in Toronto?

4. Read and repeat.
Step four: pair work
1. Look at the weather map, ask students to make a conversation with partners .
2. Ask students to show their dialogues in class.
Step five: Summary and Homework
