Unit 2 English around the world教学设计
教学目标：
二、 教学目标：
（一）．知识目标：
1.本单元的中心话题是“世界上的英语”，通过对这一话题的探讨加强对英语语言的了解，对当代语言特别是英语发展趋势的了解。
2.这一单元课文中出现长难句。重点是分词短语作定语。例如
（1）The English spoken in England between about AD450 and 1150 was very different from the English spoken today.

（2）Today the number of people learning English in China is increasing rapidly.
通过分析，教会学生如何分析长难句。
3.
通过阅读教学，理解课文中的词汇，单词放在课文中理解会变的更容易。
（二）． 能力目标：培养学生的各项阅读理解能力。
（1） 抓主旨大意以及段落大意的能力。如：What’s the main idea of the text?

细节理解能力。如：Make a timeline of the development of English, using the passage to help you. and
Read the
text and decide whether the statements are true (T) or false (F).
(3).词意猜测能力。如： 根据文章和句意用英语解释画线部分。
(4).分析长难句的能力。如： Analyze the long difficult sentences .

让学生通过阅读获取有关英语语言发展的知识，扩大国际视野，强化文化意识，激发他们学习英语的热情。同时，通过欣赏英文歌曲country road take me home来培养学生学习英语的兴趣，培养学生的情感。

教学过程：
Step I
Learning—in
1. Students make a dialogue and get some differences between American English and British English.
2. Show a map and list some countries that use English as an official language.
[设计说明]：这两项活动主要由学生在课余通过上网查阅知识自己来完成，充分调动了学生学习英语的积极性和学生的自主学习的能力。通过对话创设情景，让学生在快乐中了解美式英语和英式英语的不同，同时激发学生学习英语的兴趣。通过展示世界地图，让学生了解更多的讲英语的国家的知识，同时也更加充分调动了学生的积极性。

【设计说明】：通过做这两个题型，重在培养学生抓主旨大意和段落大意的能力。并且可以总结相应的规律，并且运用到以后的阅读理解中。

【设计说明】：本篇课文是一篇说明文。通过按时间顺序来填空，能够让学生很容易的理顺文章。同时也训练了学生的细节理解能力。明确说明文的写作特点。
2. Read the text and decide whether the statements are true (T) or false (F).

【设计说明】让学生学会分析长难句，排除阅读理解的障碍。教会学生分析长难句时要学会抓主干。
Step IV. Fill in the blanks according to the text.

【设计说明】通过欣赏歌曲，让学生在快乐中学英语，同时也培养了学生的情感能力，激发了学生学习的兴趣。
