高一英语必修三unit4 reading 教学设计

              

指导思想:通过本单元的学习,培养学生热爱科学,主动探究科学的精神,同时培养珍爱生命,热爱共同的家园-地球和保护环境保护地球的意识。

      理论依据:《新课程标准》

教学背景分析:本单元话题是地球上生命的起源,万有引力和太空旅行等让学生了解相关的天文知识,培养学生对科学的兴趣,激发学生探究科学的热情。此单元话题看上去比较熟悉,实则比较陌生,真正能用英语表达的学生不多,且本课时所涉及的词汇较多,对学生是个不小的挑战。因此,教师在课前就要充分备课,为调动学生积极性而大量收集相关资料,开展丰富的合作交流和自主学习。

教学目标:

1. Develop students reading ability.

reading skil2.2.Enable students to know about the development of the earth.

3.Arouse students’ interest to search for the mystery of universe.

4.Learn new words and expressions.

Step 1.Lead in

T: Hello, everyone! Today we’ll learn Unit 4-- Astronomy. Before that I have a puzzle for you to guess :

 It looks like a ball but you can't play.

It is our home but so big.

It is round but we usually think it is flat.

It moves anytime but no one feels.

Can you guess what it is?

S: It is the earth.

T: Right!And do you know more about the planets? How many planets are there in the solar system?

Step 2. Warming up

1.Check which one is the earth?

2. let students name the 8 planets.

3. Ask students why pluto is not included.

Step 3. Pre-reading

T: Among all the planets,the earth is the only one with life on it.

But do you know how our life began on the earth?

S: Pan Gu separated the sky from the earth?

  Nv Wa mended the sky?...

T: Any more?....Perhaps we can find the answer in the following passage.

Step 4. Reading

Scanning

Get the students to listen to the passage and check the answer.Teacher gives the students a couple of minutes to look through the whole passage and match the main idea of each paragraph.

Para1: It is widely accepted that the universe began with a “Big Bang.

Para2:How the earth formed.

Para3:Water is very important for life on the earth.

Para4:The development of plants and animals on the earth.

Para5:The arrival of humans and their effects  on the earth.

Careful reading: analyse each paragraph

Para1:What is the widely accepted theory in Para 1?(回答问题)

Para2:How did the earth come into being.(挖词填空)

Para3:Why is water so important for the beginning of life?(补全句子)

Para4:Put these living things in order.(排序)

Para5: After the clever animals (humans) became important on the earth, what happened?(描述后果)

Sum up:概括全篇内容及作者写作情感(选择题)

学习效果评价及教学反思


这个单元是科普说明文,中心话题是“天文学”,主要内容是围绕地球上生命的起源展开的。这节课是本单元的第一课时,教学内容是Warming up and reading,我设计了六个教学步骤:Step 1 lead in,Step 2 Warming up,Step 3  Pre-reading,Step 4 Reading,Step 5 Group Discussion,Step 6 writing。其中,Reading部分设计了三个任务,scanning  care-reading  sum-up,分别用不同的题型让 学生较容易的理解本篇课文的大意及每段细节内容。

这节课在设计上兼顾了知识性与趣味性,同时,也给学生提供了记忆技巧,帮助学生记住八大行星的顺序。Reading部分能够针对文章的主题“How Life Began on the Earth”进行设计,重点突出地球的形成以及生命的形成,有助于学生掌握重点。

总结起来,这节课的教学内容能基本全部完成,主要有以下几个原因:第一,本单元的warming up 部分内容,学生已经在地理课上学过,且课件做得比较生动,理解上也就比较不难。第二,本节课设计的环节,环环相扣,由难到易,深入浅出。第三,学生方面,预习充足。巡堂发现,部分学生课本上做胃很碰记号,标记胃重点单词,累计了新单词,课堂习题也能当场较好完成。教研组老师认为,这是一节真实的课。我的声音及面部表情都很有亲和力,能较好的带动学生学习。

唯一的不足就是8大行星的英文单词花的时间久了点,毕竟这不是本节课的教学重点。

本人努力方向:一、备课时要更充分考虑各方面因素,尤其是要注意要详略突出。二、备课时多想想如何创新。三、继续帮助学生养成预习的习惯。
