1.One habit at a time

一次只一个习惯

People usually want to have it all. And whenever it comes to developing habits, they want to replace all their bad ones with good ones. And of course, they fail. Then, they usually don’t try a second time because they are negative and disappointed in themselves, have lost hope and are sure they’ll fail again.

人们通常都想一次性搞定。不管何时想要培养一个习惯,他们都希望能将所有的坏习惯变成好习惯。然后,他们通常都不会做第二次尝试因为他们不相信自己,已经对自己失望了,已经失去了希望,并且确定自己肯定还会失败。

2.Begin

开始

Beginning is the hardest and most important part of the process. Just start. Then everything will fall into place. Don’t think about it too much, don’t plan it in detail, don’t wait for Monday or the beginning of the next month to start. Do it now.

开始时肯定会特别艰难,但也是这过程中最重要的部分。一定要开始,然后一切才能顺其自然。不要认为改变的太多了,就不能进行细节上的规划,不要等到星期一或是下个月早开始,现在就可以开始。

3. Be consistent

坚持

Consistency is the key to success.

坚持是成功的关键。

If you want to start running, just run for a few minutes, but do it each day. If you want to get up earlier, get up 10 minutes before your usual time, do it every single day.

如果你想要开始跑步,那就只是跑几分钟,但是要每一天都跑。如果你想要早点起来,在平常的起床时间上早起十分钟,也要每一天都坚持。

4.Have a trigger

要有一个触动性事件

Do what you want to develop a habit which relates to something else that you’re already doing daily? Go to the gym after you finish work, meditate right after you wake up, read or write as a part of your morning routine, etc.

做你想做的一些事会与你现在每天都在做的某些事情有一些联系?工作完成以后去体育馆,起床之后做冥想,在把早上的一系列事务处理完以后看书或是写作等。

That will be your reminder and you’ll have no excuse to skip the action.

这些都能提醒你,你就没有借口去逃避。

5.Enjoy the process

享受这一过程

Enjoying the process of changing your habits helps a lot. Be positive and be confident in your abilities. Willpower and motivation go together with feeling contented and enjoying the transformation.

享受改变习惯对你有很大帮助的这一过程,对你的能力要有自己,要用积极的心态看待。毅力和动力结合在一起会让你收获满足,享受这一转变过程。

Keep these 5 tips in mind and you’ll succeed in whatever you’re trying to achieve. Having changed one habit will make it so much easier for you to work on a second one and do it even better.
