2. Describe the festivals from several aspects and use the Passive Voice when necessary.

Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Revision
1. Let the students finish yesterday’s task----Introduce something about Carnival that impresses you deeply.
2. Play a video about Carnival.

Step 2 Leading-in
Play a guessing game----What are these festivals?
Eg: On this festival, people’s faces are covered with masks.
They are dressed in very special clothes on this day. --Carnival狂欢节
Students: Through competition to guess what the festival is.
【设计意图：教师设计导入环节，学生通过猜测不同中外节日的游戏，进入新课并且激发学生学习兴趣】
Step 3 Review the forms of the passive voice
Teacher: Ask and help the students to finish Task1 on learning sheet.
Students:
1. Independent study
Task 1:Underline the verb form of each sentence and then summarize the forms of the passive voice of seven tenses.
Task 2. Exercise
Students will finish the multiple choices by themselves.
2.Presentation
Students can present their results in any group
Help the students understand and use the forms of the passive voice better.

Step 4 Describe a festival
Task1：Exercise
1. The answers you are not sure.
2. From what aspects the passage describes the festival? (Underline the key words or sentences.)
Ask the students to fill in the blanks with correct verb forms by themselves..

Teacher: Offer and guide the students to finish the questions of discussion.
Students: Discuss with their group members to analyze the passage, from what aspects it describes carnival.

Task3:. Group work and Presentation
Teacher offer some sentence structures and useful information about two festivals.
Ss: According to the aspects, the first four groups describe the Spring Festival, and the other four groups describe Christmas. Present their passages and other students find out the good points or mistakes in their passages.

Describe your favorite festival and try to use the passive voice in it.

Step 6 Cultural education
What actions should we do to protect our culture?
Students read the sentences on the screen together.
To protect our traditional culture is to protect our national treasure, to inherit our history and to guard our spiritual homeland.
【设计意图：我国是文化古国，有着源远流长的文化，必须增强学生保护文化的意识，成为一个有责任感的中国学生。】
Teaching Reflection:
1. I dealt with this lesson as a practical and writing lesson, through competition and group work to make the students take part in the class actively and help them learn to use this grammar well.
2. There is not enough time for more students to present their passages. So I should organize the lessons more reasonably to give the students more time to present themselves.
议课：
一节好的阅读课的所有活动都应该围绕文章topic进行，应注意中下层学生对课文的理解和掌握，要兼顾vocabulary，structure 和topic之间的关系。阅读课中的discussion应该是更深层次的讨论，加深讨论就是评论，应check the result of the discussion。讨论中，要让学生多用所学的功能句讨论本篇阅读的主题。在这方面以前的认识还不足。
采用有力的措施改进教学。例如学生基础和能力方面的欠缺，应帮助纠正、弥补运用知识解决问题能力不足，应通过训练来提高少数人的问题，个别辅导。大多数学生的问题，需要在课堂是统一解决，甚至调整教学进度等等。叫学生回到问题，应到处开花，覆盖面应达到80%以上。在以后的教学中应继续加强贯彻学生合作学习的新课程理念。实践证明对合作学习是积极欢迎的，在合作学习中学生能畅所欲言，充分表达自己的思想感情，发挥自身的潜力。还要加强对教材的整合力度，教学中要紧紧围绕主题开展活动，搭够教学步骤的台阶，让学生从不懂到懂，从朦胧到清晰，带领全体学生而不是部分学生共同进步。
