Unit 5. Why do you like pandas? (Section A 1a-2b)


         一、教材分析


本单元的话题是讨论动物,以及自己的喜好。要求学生掌握一些新的关于动物的名词,和一些表示性质和品质的形容词。能够学会用这些描述动物的形容词来描述动物,并且要学会使用Why引导的特殊疑问句以及由Because引导的简短的答语。通过讨论动物,让学生更能了解大自然,更能与大自然亲近与动物亲近,使学生更能热爱动物,更能热爱大自然。


(一)知识目标


首先,学习一些新单词。1、有关动物的名词:tiger,elephant,koala,panda,lion,giraffe. 2、有关国家的名词:Australia,China,Africa,South Africa. 3、有关品质的形容词:cute,smart,shy,beautiful,friendly,lazy等。4、其他:kind,kind of.


其次,学习以下句型:Let us see the lions.  Why do you like pandas? Because they are cute. Where are they from? They are from South Africa.


(二)能力目标


使学生们能够熟练谈论自己的喜好,并能够熟练的给出理由。


(三)情感态度与价值观


通过学习可以是学生们更加热爱动物,热爱自然。并且可以培养学生保护动物的意识。


(四)教学重点,难点


教学重点:由Why/Where引导的特殊疑问句。


教学难点:应用所学的句型,表达品质的形容词等,来熟练地描述动物。


二、教法分析


本节课的教学对象是七年级的学生,对他们来说,已经有了一定的英语基础,同时,七年级的学生学习更加生动,活泼。结合他们的自身特点,我采取直观教学法和情境教学法。


首先,直观教学法。本节课主要学习对动物的描述,所以,利用白板在我的课件上展示一些动物的图片和不同种类动物所发出的声音,以此来触发学生们学习的动力,让学生更加深刻的掌握有关动物的名词以及一些描述性的形容词。


其次,情境教学法。利用白板展示图片以及小对话,引导学生们编写对话。


三、学法分析


课程的开始,我会选择一小段动物小视频,并且创设情境,进行猜谜游戏,并且给予胜利者奖励。猜单词,使学生能够更加深刻的记忆新的词汇。句型部分,我会让同学们采用小组对话的形式,这样,课堂更加生动,活泼。


四、教学过程


Step 1:Warm-up and lead in.


Listen to a song,"Old  Macdonald Had a Farm". Then the teacher asks:“How many animals are there in this song?”Students answer .


Step 2:Learning by themselves.


1、New words:Show some pictures of animals,let students look at the pictures and say what animals they are.


    2、Game:Guessing game. Show some pictures on the big screen. Let Students guess what animal it is. Students try to guess and remember the names of the animals. Look at the animals' pictures and then say the new words quickly. 


3、Listen:Ask the students to do listening to the conversations and then answer the questions. T: Listen to the conversation carefully. Then write the names of the animals you hear on these lines.Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.Play the recording a second time. This time students write in the names of the animals.


Check the answers.


Point out the adjectives and countries listed on the right. Ask a student to say the words.Say, Now I will play the recording again. This time draw a line between each animal and the adjective and countries you hear.Play the recording and have students match each animal with an adjective and a country.


Correct the answers.


4、Sentences:Let students discuss how to use why questions and where questions. So students will know the key and difficult points.


Step 3:Show and improve.


Pair work: Let students work in pairs and use sentences"Let us see the lions.  Why do you like pandas? Because they are cute. Where are they from? They are from South Africa." Use these sentences to make conversations. Write down the conversations they made and show to others. Ask the students to imagine “ We are in the zoo, there are many kinds of animals here.” Then ask a student to do the model with you:


— Let’s see the lions first. 


—Why? (why do you /does she /does he like lions?) 


—Because they are interesting. 


Students work with their partners practice the conversation using the animal in 1a.


Step 4:Solve the problems.


Ask students about their problems and solve the problems for them.


Step 5: Test.


Show some questions on the big screen. Let students answer the questions. Teacher check the answers.


    Step 4: Extension


My mother's words: Animals are our friends, to love animals is love ourselves.
