The lesson starts with photos of the teachers’ best friends to encourage the students to describe their best friends. Q1:Do you have any friends in our class? Q2:What good qualities does he/she have? Teacher makes a summary of good qualities ,and shows them on the screen.
Look at the picture and and lead to the story---Roy’s story.
Ask students to read the story quickly then fill in the form of basic elements of a story.
Divide the 8 paragraphs into 4 parts according to 4 periods. Ask student to read every parts carefully and find out what happened. Part1(Para.1 -- 2) : the first time I met him. Part2(Para.3 ): five years later Part3(Para.4--5): three months ago Part4(Para.6--8): last week
Exercises:
Ask students to discuss: If you are also Roy’s friends and want to help him, what would you do? And then summarize the ideas. Ask students to read the sayings about friendship and cherish friendship.
Ask students to do the exercise on page 31. |
