Unit 9 Do you want to go to a movie?
                                Section A

Teaching aims:
1. knowledge:
1) vocabulary: action movie, documentary, thriller, comedy,

2) Phrases and expressions: go to a movie, what kind, Beijing Opera, movie star.
3) Function: Do you want to ---? Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.
                What kind of movie do you like?   I like---.

 Period 1 (Section A1a-3a)
Step 1: Warming-up and presentation
Before class, get students to enjoy some movies for about 5 minutes to warm them up.
T: Now let’s stop the movie and begin our class. Do you know the movie we’ve just seen?
Ss: Yes. Juqishoulai

T: Good. Do you like it?
Ss: Yes.
T: Do you like movies?
Ss: Yes. Very much.
T: Then do you want to go to a movie?
Ss: Yes.
T: Then let’s go to a movie.

Step 2What kind of movies do you know?

(多媒体课件播放在某个电影节上出现的不同类型的电影,让学生欣赏了电影的美,感知了不同类型的电影,为下步的词汇教学扫清了障碍。)

1、action movie 2、comedy 3、thriller 4、documentary 5、cartoon 6、Beijing Opera

Use the following questions to ask and answer:

What kind of movie is it?

And what kind of movies are these?

Do you like thrillers? Do you want to see thrillers? Why?

How do you spell it?

Step3 Pairwork

A :What kind of movies do you want to see ?

B: I want to see a /an action movie/comedy/documentary/thriller.

Step4 listening

1、I have two friends,Ben and Sally. They’re also talking about the movies. Let’s listen to their conversation and number the kinds of movies in the order you hear them 1_ 4 in 1a.

2、But what kind of movies do they like? Check the answers with Does she/he like…?

Then make sentences:

Ben likes…but he doesn’t like…

Sally likes…but she doesn’t like…

Step4 3a

Have students fill in the blanks with and or but. Then call 4 students to act them out and the other students to retell them.

Step5 Make conversations like this: (You can add more information)

     A: Do you want to go to a movie?

     B: Yes ,I do.

     A: What kind of movies do you like ?

     B: I like comedies. Do you like comedies?      

     A: No, I don’t . I like action movies.

     B: I like action movies, too. Let’s see

          an action movie.

     A: That sounds interesting.

Step6 Homework :Make a survey

T:Ben and Sally like movies. Do your classmates like movies? What kinds of movies do they like? Please make a survey in groups of four . Find out what movies they like and they don't like.

 

 

 


教学反思:

1、这堂课我注重学生词汇学习策略的培养,引导学生自主学习。在学习过程中,我注重了对学生进行听、说、读、写四方面的训练,鼓励学生积极走进英语世界,自觉加入到英语学习中来,学生之间互相交流合作,共同学习、共同探究,学习热情高涨。

2、在教学过程中,每个步骤我都给出了活动所需的语言知识内容。对于如何将知识由易至难,层层导入我都做了精心的设计。学生亦能准确的使用目标语言。

3、但我在备学生方面出现了疏忽,我忽视了他们的实际情况,对他们的认知基础了解不够。我只关注了部分同学的需要,盲目扩张词汇,加大了学生的学习压力,使本节课略显沉闷。本节课,我在复习和操练的时间分配上不是很恰当,学生没能在活动中学习掌握知识。而且我在课堂上过于沉稳,激情不足,在调动学生方面仍有待改进。
