Step1 Checking
Check whether the students have previewed this new lesson.(Task1.2 and3)
(During this period, the teacher asks the students to practice these useful words and expressions over and over again.)
Step2 Lead-in
Let the students watch a video about obesity in the United States to predict the topic we are going to learn in this class———A healthy life.
Step 3 Brainstorming
1. Get the students to think of some words or phrases that have something to do with “health”.
(Every student is asked to think of one word or a phrase at least, and then divide the students into four groups to have a competition.)
Step 4 Discussion
1. Ask the students to think about the two questions.
1).What’s a healthy life?
2).What’s a healthy person?
2. Read the answers for several times so that they can remember them.
3. Get the students to look at some pictures on the screen and answer the following questions.(Remind them to remember these activities)
i) What is he/she doing?/What are they doing?
ii) Is the activity healthy or unhealthy?
Activities include: doing Taichi,drinking alcohol, swimming, running, overeating, skipping rope, kicking shuttlecock, singing, dancing ,cigarette smoking, etc.
After that, ask the students to fill in the blanks and then read them together.
