unit 8 how was your school trip ? (section b 3a,3b 3c)

 

教材简析:

本套教材采用循环式的编排顺序,难度逐渐增加。每个单元都采用听说领先,读写跟后这种形式。《英语课程标准》指出: “听和读是理解的技能,说和写是表达的技能;这四种技能在语言学习和交际中相辅相成、相互促进。学生应通过大量的专项和综合性语言实践活动,形成综合语言运用能力。为真实语言交际打基础。(《英语课程标准》,第 9 页)阅读教学的目的是培养学生良好的英语阅读习惯,使学生在轻松愉快的环境下获取信息,得到感知语言的能力,以读促写,读写结合,自然延伸。

本节课是一节读写课,首先阅读nick写给tom的信,在信中nick描述了自己上个休息日所做的事情,通过阅读,激活了学生的灵感和背景知识,扩大了学生的词汇量。通过分析文章,整理思路,学生掌握了一定的写作技巧,就能写出自己在休息日所做的事情。

设计理念:

本节课以nick描述自己上个休息日所做的事情为主线,通过听说读写等一系列教学活动学习一般过去时。我强调从学生的生活经验和认知水平出发,倡导体验,实践,参与、合作与交流的学习方式和任务型教学模式,发展学生的综合运用语言能力,进一步提高学生对英语的学习热情,增强学习英语的兴趣。。

教学目标:

知识与技能

   1 能听懂,会读和会说单词umbrella, raincoat, wet, yard, yard sale.

2 能读懂nick写给tom的信,能描述上个休息日nick所做的事情

3 学习规则动词和不规则动词的过去式

4 能写出上个休息日自己所做的事情

情感与态度

1 进一步提高学生对英语的学习热情,增强学习英语的兴趣。

2 培养学生积极主动的参与课堂活动,大胆开口,增强自信心。

step 1 revision

     review tony’s day off and tina’s day off by asking how was tony’s day off? and how was tina’s day off?

 

复习上一节的内容,激活和提供必要的背景知识,引出本节课的话题,起到承上启下的作用。

 

 

step 2 presentation

teach new words by using a picture to teach umbrella, raincoat, wet, yard, yard sale. how was the weather? it’s raining. so the ground is wet, right? what are they wearing? they are wearing raincoats. what is he holding in his hand?he is holding an umbrella. where are they? they are in the yard. what are they doing ? they are having a yard sale in the rain.

 

 

 

 

创设情景,用图片教单词,使学生能够更加容易的理解词义,为进一步阅读解决理解上的语言障碍

 

step 3 3a

read the article.

1) for the first time, ask them to answer this question “how was nick’s day off?” ( he didn’t have a very fun day.)

2) for the second time, take notes of the things nick did that day.

the answers: visited his cousins ; stayed in the house; watched dvds; played computer games; read

3) find out the past tense of all the irregular verbs in the article .

the answers: is/was; do/did; put/put ; have/had ;come/came

4) useful expressions: have fun doing ; get wet ; in my opinion.

 

 

 

 

先从整体上理解文章大意,训练学生快速阅读。(skimming)

 

再从细节上理解文章,完成题目上所要求的任务。训练学生仔细阅读(scanning)并完成阅读任务。这也是本节课的重点。

把重点和难点找出来,强化训练,掌握重点,突破难点。

 

点面结合,强调重点。学习语言知识,并将阅读技能与其他语言技能进行整合,对学生进行综合语言能力训练。

 

 

step 4 listen and repeat

first ask students to listen and repeat.

then read the article by themselves.

after reading, tell the students how to write a paragraph. it includes topic sentence and supporting details. pay attention to coherence.

 

 

注重语言的交际功能,培养学生的听说能力

 

从词到篇,从局部到整体。并且为后面写作做好铺垫。

 

step 5 3b

ask how was your day off? imagine that you are tom and this is a letter from you to nick. fill in the blanks. read the letter to the class. say “blank” each time you come to a blank line.

ask students to read their letters to a partner.

step 6 3c

write a letter about what you did on your last day off.

correct the letters and invite some students to read their letters to the class.

 

 

这是一个半开放的写作,学生通过前面的学习,积累了一定的知识和技巧,为3c的写作做好热身准备。

 

展示自我,增强自信。

 

 

结合学生自己的生活经验,使学生能积极主动地参与课堂活动,进一步提高学生对英语的学习热情,增强学习英语的兴趣。以读促写,读写结合,培养学生的写作技能,

设计说明:第一栏是本节课要掌握的单词和短语,第二栏呈现的是两个问题的答案1 “how was nick’s day off?” ( he didn’t have a very fun day.) 2 take notes of the things nick did that day. (the answers: visited his cousins ; stayed in the house; watched dvds; played computer games; read )。这两个答案的呈现,是学生很容易理解写段落时所要求的topic sentence 和supporting details。第三栏是不规则动词的过去式,这也是重难点之一
