Step 1 Lead-in (6 mins)
1.Show some pictures of some famous places in other countries (Sydney Opera House,The Statue of Liberty, Eiffel Tower)
2.Ask the students something about their travelling abroad and play a video of Peru
T:Have you ever travelled in another country? And tell us something interesting during your travelling?
T: For most of us, we have little chance to go abroad by now, but it doesn't matter. Today, I will introduce a country---Peru to you. So let's enjoy a video of Peru to you.

Step 2 Pre--listening (3 mins)
T : From the video, we can see that Peru is a very charming country and abundant in natural resources. Are you eager to visit the country?
Ss: Yes
T: So do I. Open your books and turn to page 42. There is a student, Lia who wants to visit Peru,so she goes to a travel agent to find the best way to travel there. Before listening, let’s look at the map of South America on page 42, find the cities of Liam and Cuzco and the Andes Mountains.
T: Who can describe their locations according to the map?
Ss: Lima, Capital City, lies on the west coast
Cuzco, in the South Mountainous area
Andes Mountain runs parallel to Pacific Ocean

Step 3 Listening (7 mins)
T: Read fast the questions and find out the listening points. Pay attention to these important points while listening. When I play the tape for the first time, try to get a general idea of the conversation and tick the things Lia likes doing and do the True or False exercises.

T:OK, after listening, we have known about Lia’s travel plan. Would you like to take a tour there? Before we go, let’s learn make plans in details.Look at the reading passage on page 44. Listen to the tape (ask Ss to read after the tape) ,find the characteristics of each tour and underline the places mentioned in it.
Ss are supposed to underline: costal belt, the Andes Mountains, high flat plains, Lake Titicaca, Lima, Cuzco, Machu Picchu.
