1.        在以下句子中，when是并列连词，表示“这时…”

(1) …was doing sth…when… 正在做…这时…

    例句：  I was watching TV when the doorbell rang. 我正在看电视，突然门铃响了。

(2)…was about to do sth…when…正要做…这时…

    例句： I was about to say something when you interrupted me. 我刚要说话，这时你打断了我。

(3) …had just done sth…when…刚做完…这时…

    例句：  I had just stepped out of the house when I saw a dog, 我刚出房门，就看见了一条狗。

练习： A . She was cooking ______the door opened and her son came in.

B . Tom had just taken a shower ______ the phone rang.

C . Bob was about to leave _______ it began to rain.

2.  It is /has been+时间段+since…(从句谓语用过去时)

e.g.  It has been 3 years since he came here. /It is 3 years since he came here.   他来这里有3年了。

 ①.It was +时间段+before…（从句谓语用过去时）过…才…

e.g. It was three years before he finished the work. 他花了三年才完成这项工作.

②. It will be +时间段+before。。。（从句谓语用一般现在时）还要过…才…

e.g. It will be three years before he finishes the work. 他得花三年才能完成这项工作.

练习： A.  It is five years_______ I began to work here.

B.  It was three months______the old man died.

C.  It will be half a year _______ I take the college entrance examination.

4.  ①. Hardly had sb done … when… (一…就…) ②. No sooner… than…(一…就…)

Hardly had I got to the bus stop when the bus started.    我刚到车站，车就开了。

No sooner had I got to the bus stop than the bus started.  我刚到车站，车就开了。

5. Not until…+倒装句（部分倒装）

例句： Not until all the fish died in the pond did the farmers realize the importance of protecting environment.

直到鱼塘里的鱼全死了，农民们才意识到保护环境的重要性。

练习：  A.  Hardly had they arrived home _____ it began to rain heavily.

B.       Not until 12 o’clock _____my mother come back from work.

6. It’s high time that sb should do… / It’s high time that sb did …(从句谓语用过去时) 到了…时候了

 It is high time that we should protect the environment. 我们早该保护环境了。

  It is high time that we protected the environment.

7. It’s the first (second , third…) time that…（从句谓语用现在完成时）这是某人第几次做某事了。

  It is the second time that I have seen the movie. 这是我第二次看这部电影。

8. not… but… 不是。。。而是。。。

She is not playing computer games but eating chocolate。他不是在玩游戏，而是在吃巧克力。

10. It occurred to sb that… 某人突然想到。。。

It occurred to her that she had adopted the homeless child. 她突然想到她已经收养了一个孩子.

11.  It is no wonder that… 难怪….    It is no wonder that you look so happy. 难怪你看上去那么高兴。

12.  so/ such… that… 如此…以至于…

   The boy is so young that he can’t go to school./ He is such a young boy that he can’t go to school.

A.      _____ seems that the man has lost his way.

B.       It occurred ____ me that I could ask Tom for help.

C.       His father is a famous musician. It is no wonder _____ he likes music.

13. 祈使句，+and/ or+简单句

   Go along this street , and you will find the school on the left. 沿着这条路一直走，学校就在左边。

   Behave yourself, or you will be punished. 表现好一点，否则会受惩罚的。

14.  there is no doubt that… 毫无疑问。。。 例句：   There is no doubt that his English has improved.

15. there is no need to do sth  没必要做。。。 例句：   There is no need to wait for him any longer.
